I had a task to research possibilities to post from WordPress to Facebook wall.

It turned out to be a pretty difficult task. First, I tries a pretty big number of various plugins to WordPress. None of them worked for me properly due to carious reasons.
Then I researched the possibilities proposed by Facebook applications.
And now I have what to suggest:
RSS Graffitti on Facebook.
It goves a possibility to post to your own wall and to walls of your subscribed groups.
In my case KosherDev.com is posting to the wall of KosherDev.com group.

At last Mike “Mikeage” Miller shared his wonderful improved plugin for displaying Hebrew dates in WordPress.
It is my greatest pleasure to announce such event on Kosherdev.com.
When I started Kosherdev.com, I was looking for a plugin, which might display Hebrew dates instead or with Gregorian ones. Short surf over Google brought me to KosherJava.com site with preliminary version of this plugin. I installed this version, and then found that it doesn’t suit to my theme jQ. I changed some lines and only then found that Mike already done some improvements. I was too lazy to migrate to Mike’s version and I stayed with old on.

And at last new and improved version of Hebrew dates was released. KosherJava.com already announced it here.
I’d like to thank Mike for a wonderful work. Keep on going!

Surfing Internet brings sometimes interesting results.
Keywords “kosher linux” in google search brought me page from U8UNTU eLXER about Jubuntu = Ubuntu for “Jewish People”

Information from Launchpad and Jewbuntu.org both seems to be a joke.

Jewbuntu.com offers iso with a version of distro 7.10.
I installed it through VirtualBox. Actually, it turned out to be just Ubuntu 7.10 Desktop iso. So, it nothing more than a fake.

I think that would be nice to have a precompiled Linux distro with a set of programs and browser bookmarks for needs of Jewish people with certain religious needs. Hope, soon there appear some light and fast true kosher Linux OS.

I plan to get Android based phone, so such a program will be very useful for me as well.

KosherJava reported that there appeared a new Plazma widget for observant Jews fond of KDE desktop.

I had no chance to test this widget, but you can have a look on Moshe Wagner‘s and KosherJava‘s screenshots.

I still hope, that Moshe would release something similar of Gnome, otherwise I will need to migrate to KDE

Searching for Jewish-related software i had found a wonderful and really funny Role-playing game called The Shivah 2.
According to the publisher’s description:

Dvinsker.lv is the site for Daugavpils Jewish community. It collects all possible information about past and present of Jews in Daugavpils, Latvia.

I started this project in the beginning of 2006. But statistics I have starts only in February, 2008. But still it might be interesting for learning web statistics for a site, targeted to medium Internet user.
