Zmanim Widget 1.7
1 Comment | Posted by Moishe Beshkin in Zmanim widget
In this release I added some features, recomended by KosherJava.
1. Notable changed in date/time display. Now date/time format can be set manually or used default of the WordPress blog.
Now, you can either specify your own view of Date/time ouput, or use default WordPress’s one.
2. Advanced configuration page got options to change date/time formatting manually.
3. fixed hebrew wording
Known issue: just after installation, there are no dates and time in widget.
Workaround: Go to Settings -> Zmanim Widget and set date and time format. Then save and Widget will display dates and time in your selected format.
New version of Zmanim widget is available for download and installation from WordPress repository or via installation manager

Moishe,
Thanks for the update. the formatting looks great.
There seems to be a bug in the way that candle lighting is calculated on my blog. It is 2 hours before the end of Shabbos (7:06 candle lighting and 9:06 PM end of Shabbos in Lakewood lat 40.09596, long -74.22213, offset -5, DST yes). Since you use 72 minutes, I would expect candle lighting to be around 7:54 – 18 minutes = 7:36. This is off by about 30 minutes (not exactly 30 off since the zmanim change from Friday to shabbos). It looks like your blog is not affected by this issue, but mine is. Also note that the link to my site is broken in this post.
I would suggest the following changes:
1. Instead of “It will come in 4 days.”, use “Is 4 days away” (on Friday – “Is 5 hours and 20 minutes away”
2. “Candle Light” should be “Candle Lighting” (#6 from my original request last week)
3. very minor visual issue – “Candle light :” has a space before the “:”)
4. Consider combining Weekly Torah reading and Shabbos sections.
5. Yom Tov section should be one bullet point “Erev Rosh Hashanah will be on Wednesday ….”. Consider adding the next few yomim tovim.
