My primary higher education is a teacher English and History of World Culture.
My English is good enough for the work I do for life (at least I hope so). But my studies in History of World Culture move to Jewish side more and more.
It is about 3 years, since I started research on source of WEB 2.0 in World Culture. I discovered, that the most recent example of WEB 2.0 phenomenon is Talmud. But let’s talk about everything step-by-step.
1. Types of WEB 2.0 we know.
I’d divide WEB 2.0 to 3 main types: blog, webboard and wiki. They differ in the way of generating User content.
Blog – Author generates initial text and users develop Text by adding comments and comments to comments to initial Text. As a result Text grows in wide.
Webboard – similar to Blog, but Text can be added by anyone and grows in long.
Wiki – all users have a possibility to change and improve initial Text.
2. How it can be connected to Talmud and rabbinical literature?
2.1 Talmud is a clear example of Webbobard. A very good explanation is given here. Put mouse pointer over a Talmud page and see boxed explanation.
Nowadays technology gives a possibility to implement Talmudic traditional page layout in web applications.
Commentpress declares that idea was taken from Talmud page layout.
Russian car magazine utilizes idea of side inline comments.
2.2 Torah with comments is so to say “G-d’s blog”. He gave us initial text, which is commented to make it more clear. Unfortunately further posts He writes privately %)
2.3 Judaism in general is a kind of Wiki page. In order to come to absolute truth we develop Jewish tradition wiki page.
